Subject: July 29 2nd Half Opener
Info: (23204 views) Posted: Wednesday 7-19-06 08:30:03 PM
That's a supper fun race. Smash upwind, big wave surfing and a blast down wind, finishing in moderate winds and often very warm weather in Alameda- with a fun party, we'll be there! Will

:: I'll second Mike's comments about this being a fun and
:: diverse race. You get to experience a wide range of
:: racing conditions. The upwind leg from TI to the GG
:: Bridge is usually fairly mild at that time of the
:: morning, the beat to Bonita and the run back to the
:: Bridge is anyone's guess on wind conditions, the
:: downwind leg from the GG bridge to the Bay Bridge is
:: usually a great run with a screaming reach past Alcatraz
:: (you have to leave Alcatraz to stbd), and the run from
:: the Bay bridge to EYC is warm, flat, and "challenging".
::
:: If you're planning on racing, get your entry into YRA
:: before Monday to avoid a $35 late fee.
::
:: See you on the water

:: :: Just trying to drum up some interest in the second half
:: :: opener on July 29th. Desperado and Wyle Coyote are
:: :: already entered.
:: ::
:: :: Race starts off TI, Bonita to port and then back to
:: :: Encinal YC. Its actually a pretty diverse sail over
:: :: ranges of conditions ending in an adventure down the
:: :: estuary to finish.
:: ::
:: :: There's a party afterwards at EYC.
