Look around any boat yard and most owners usally overlook trailer mainttence. It may be far less expensive to rebuild your trailer as opposed to purchasing a new one and here are some vendors that I have used.

Valleyfabrication.com in Salinas builds and repairs farms equipment and can cut out all the bad metal and replace it with new as well as sandblast and paint the entire trailer on site. KKMI has a welding shop in the back but you will need to supply the metal.

johnsonassociates.net is less then 5 miles away has all the trailer parts; a new trailer heads is about $125.00. You can purchase the entire axel or just replacement parts and they can do the installation as well. I purchase new fenders for about $25 each.

It takes about 4 hours and a gallons and a quart to paint the trailer. There are several Products designed to cover bare rusted “Por 15” has excellent reviews and runs about $150.00 a gallon. A less expensive product is Rust-Oleum rusted metal primer, which you can by at home depot.
