We use a strap that goes around the top of the engine (www.westmarine.com/1/1/18926-engine-caddy.html). It makes it fairly easy to drop the engine onto the bracket with one hand while holding onto the backstay with your other hand. Hope this helps, and good luck with your express.

:: Well I went out for the first time with my new express.
:: Sails like a dream but I have some questions about the
:: outboard motor bracket.
::
:: It seems difficult to take the motor off with the
:: backstay in the way? We have a small light motor (4hp 2
:: stroke). It seems much more difficult to put it back on.
::
:: Any suggestions or modification to the original bracket
:: to help with this?
::
:: I see some people have put two channels down the stern
:: like the olsons?
::
:: Thanks,

:: Curt
