Subject: Help! Shroud tension
Info: (16178 views) Posted: Monday 8-29-11 06:02:44 PM
So I tried to retune my mast tonight and have more questions!

I tightened the rod rigging as per the tuning guide. I tried to tighten the intermediates to the 28 but could only get about 15 or so. The lowers are about 20. I could not get the 42 mentioned in the guide.

What loose gauge model is everyone using. I have a model B used for the J/24.

It seemed the more I tightened the intermediates, the straighter the mas become and took out the prebend. Is this right?

The tighter the lowers, the straighter the mast too.

Of course the tighter the aft lowers, the mast almost inverts.

Does this all make sense or am I missing something?
