ELITE KEEL STORY-A LIST OF TEN THINGS THAT HELPED DIANNE

1) The crew: Jarian Westfall, Laurel Schmidt, Mike Pastrone, Jeff Fellicetti

2) Will Paxton wasn't there.

3) This crew can change head sails, the hanked kind, in less then 2.3 minutes.

4) Wilie E Coyote didn't race Sunday.

5) Sun was shining.

6) It was my birthday weekend.

7. El Raton wasn't there.

8. We went left when we could.

9. The wind was blowing.

10. This crew has 59 combined years sailing with me.

Has anyone found a modern replacement for the original Lewmar hatch on our boats? Thanks Dan

:: If you have the original Lewmar hatch, you should
:: consider fixing it.

:: Depends on if you turn it around (so it opens facing
:: aft). The newer lewmar hatches will not open facing aft
:: (at least as far as I can tell) because they hit the
:: slight rise just in front of the hatch hole. This causes
:: them to break (cracks the frame and lexan). If anyone
:: has found a solution for this, please chime in.

:: If you leave the hatch opening forward, then it will
:: stop by hitting the mast and you won't have any problem
:: replacing with a newer Lewmar hatch. The newer hatches
:: fit the hole fine, though the bolt holes are in
:: different places.
