The original solar-powered large format two-display sealed units (Speed Master, Race Master, Sail Master) are no longer available, which is too bad because they were really, really good (though expensive). I have put some of these units through the worst kind of abuse and they survived. Until they didn't...
These large format units were always "non-repairable", and when the rechargeable batteries died you were expected to buy a new unit. I have had some success replacing the batteries in these units (there are 4 very specific batteries soldered directly to circuit boards), but it ain't easy...
Tacktick still makes a small-format sealed compass, but all their other instruments are the wireless 'micronet' type. Unfortunately, the 'micronet' system has been reported to be very unreliable by many sources.
For speed & depth only, Raymarine's units (ST40, ST60) are pretty reasonable (cost, large easy-to-read display, etc). However, they are traditional-mount units that require bulkhead mounting and 12v power. I don't know of a good equivalent to the original Tacktics.
