Subject: Hydraulic boom vang...legal...how about this one??
Info: (23617 views) Posted: Saturday 5-21-11 08:27:58 PM
That's the type I use. It supports the boom nicely. You'll need a rubber mallet when you install it. I had to make due with a hammer and wood and I beat up the mast despite being careful with it.

I need to talk to Ballanger about a better way to attach mine to the boom. I'm using the sling which works until you broach at which point the boom rises right off the sling. When you bring it back down there is a change it misses the sling and leaves it messed up.

It doesn't affect the vang at all- it mounts inside the vang/boom/mast triangle.

:: How about this type of boom kicker?

::
:: Seems light and easy to install without

:: messing up the vang....?

:: Any ideas??
