Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

Express 27 Racers, I'm the lucky guy putting together our national championship this year. The regatta will be held off of the Tiburon Yacht Club. The 'Brochure' conditions are warm winds and flat water. My intent for this year is to have a different setting for the event as opposed to the usuall heavy air circle or city front conditions. There will be new wind shifts and new tide lines. Both the Etchells and Moore 24 class have held championship regattas here with success so I'm sure we will get more of the same. What I would like to see is more of the teams come out that only make the midwinters because they prefer more moderate conditions. The yacht club itself is beautiful and warm and will be very nice to return to- much like the 'Rivera' of RYC. All that said I'm looking for shore side activity ideas and other imput to make this event special. I would like to organize some games for kids big and small on their big green lawn after sailing. West Marine will be sponsoring some of the prizes- hopefully enough for daily awards. Let me know what you think and encourage the fleet to come out! Cheers, Will
