I have sailed on a Santa Cruz 27 quite a bit. They are fun and good sailing boats... if you are the helmsman. I don't think the ergonomics on the Santa Cruz 27 are as nice as the Express. The rest of the crew felt there wasn't enough room and got banged up every race. As a one design boat they are as fun as many boats their size. I don't think they are quite as responsive as the Express 27. Also, I don't think they are as well built. The proof that I prefer the Express27 is that I considered both and bought an Express. Happy hunting. We would love to have you join us.
