Hi Patrick,
I think you'll need the long shaft (20") model of the Honda 2.3.
As Steve says the (long shaft) Honda 2.3 works well - in flat water.
I really like that it is air cooled so when you put it away wet for
racing you don't feel as bad as with the raw water cooled motors.

:: Hi Steve.
::
:: Thanks for the welcome,
::
:: I actually have a new-ish 2.3 Honda that I use with my
:: Cal 20, but I wonder if the shaft is too short ; how
:: long's the shaft on your outboard? Mine's a 15", I
:: believe.
::
:: The Tohatsu is water-cooled, and weigh 60 lbs.

:: :: Welcome to the fleet and Brickyard Cove. Many e 27's,
:: :: mine included, use the Honda 2, or the newer 2.3, for an
:: :: outboard. A bit underpowered, but light and reliable.
:: :: Honda wieghs a bit less then 30 lbs and is easy to get
:: :: off and on the stern. Pushes the boat about 5 mph in
:: :: flat water and no wind or waves.
::
:: :: I am not familiar with the Tohatsu you mentioned. SDK
