If you go outside you are going to get some friction where the sheets
bend at your aft stanchions, but if you go inside the guy will rub on
the lifelines, but only when you are running. I think I would
definitely put them inside if I anticipated doing any reaching (which
is when you really need them anyway). You might try them outside when
you are doing windward-leewards. (It also depends somewhat on how far
forward you have them led on the rail).
