Desperado loves this race. Maybe next year. EPIRB, I have one and some one changed the frequency and now they cost three times more. Masthead antenna, ok, but remember the switch to the one on the push pitl hope you never have to use it. 18" life lines? Anyone who abides by the 1989 published MORA safety requirement qualifies in my opinoin which only requres a jack line.

:: Have fun... I just injured myself skiing last weekend so
:: will be missing Spring OD, 2 handed lightship and most
:: likely DHF.
::
:: Peggy L made great progress with both the Lightship and
:: DHF RC's and i think the safety rules are now more clear
:: (and more reasonable).
::
:: See you all out there when back on my feet.

:: :: Hello Matt, Dianne, #0, is doing this race. Taz is also
:: :: listed as going. Contact our Class President, Peggy
:: :: Lidster, for updated requirements. SDK

:: :: :: Hi - Is anyone doing the DH Lightship? The NOR came out
:: :: :: last weekend and they reference the new Norcal ORC
:: :: :: Minimum Offshore Requirements as required in order to
:: :: :: race.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Are people doing this race and planning to be 100% up to
:: :: :: scratch or are people not doing this race due to the new
:: :: :: requirements?
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Of particular challenge to us in order to comply on such
:: :: :: short notice are:

:: :: :: - INTERNALLY operable manual bilge pump. Most e27's are in the cockpit. We like the idea of moving it forward to get weight out of the stern but not much time to make this happen.
:: :: :: - 18in lifelines (standard for e27's is 12) - We were thinking that if the crew were always clipped in then this requirement would not be req'd
:: :: :: - Masthead VHF (we propose 2 handhelds w/one of them continuously monitoring 16)
:: :: :: - 11.5 in Radar reflector (pretty large for such a small boat)
:: :: :: - GPS Receiver (assume a Handheld GPS will suffice but need to confirm).
:: :: ::
:: :: :: Keen for thoughts -
:: ::
