:: Yes your right, I know of 3 boats that could be
:: chartered that do not race a lot, 2 are a sure thing
:: "have been charted for noods"

:: So a total 12-13 are in MI now few outside MI, just fly
:: in with sails, one day when I have money and time our
:: crew would like to sail nationals at the bay,

:: Or anther idea would be to trailer the 1540 mi and do
:: Key west yet more $$$

::
::
:: :: I own an Express in Muskegon, MI.
:: ::
:: :: While I'd love to see another Nationals in Detroit, I
:: :: know it makes for a lightly attended championship.
:: ::
:: :: I trailer Trim to Detroit every year for the Detroit
:: :: NOOD regatta (160 miles each way). They're easy boats to
:: :: trailer!
:: ::
:: :: I guess as a class it's a nice gesture maybe once every
:: :: 10 years or so to have the nationals somewhere other
:: :: than the Bay.
:: ::
:: :: How many boats from east of the Mississippi River have
:: :: trailered out to San Francisco for the nationals? I've
:: :: always thought it would be fun, but I've never done it
:: :: (I'd get my butt kicked having to deal with tidal
:: :: currents!).
:: ::
:: :: There have been a few 27s which aren't raced in Detroit
:: :: that might always be available for charter if the
:: :: Nationals were brought back there.
:: ::
:: :: Random thoughts.....

:: ::
:: :: :: Speaking of Nationals.... when if ever is the Class
:: :: :: going to hold the Nationals with the Detroit fleet
:: :: :: again. I know logistically it can be a pain to get the
:: :: :: west coast boats back east, but I think having the
:: :: :: Nationals back east does a couple of things; First it
:: :: :: shows interest in the local fleet by Class authority,
:: :: :: which should strengthen the local fleets. Second, it
:: :: :: allows all of us Bay Area boats to sail somewhere new.
:: :: :: Also it helps the smaller fleets to get excited and
:: :: :: ramped up for more sailing, this a more active
:: :: :: Class..... Just a thought.....
:: :: ::
:: :: :: I would certainly take my boat back east. Anyone want to
:: :: :: chime in fromt he Mid West????
:: ::

7.12.07 I had a wonderful time at the recent ntls. However, putting the mast up and down and trailering the boat are not in my inventory of having a good time. Keep the ntls in bay area northern california. Thanks to the class and and TYC for a great ntls. And let's keep the weight at 880 and hold the boats together. SDK
