It was VERY good racing. Not like home where you mess up and so does everyone else. We raced with the Tarten 10s so the starts where congested. If you didn't get clear air, you suffered. The first race we got buried at the start. The second race, we were over early. One race we had to do penalty turns (6th). We missed a new wind another race. We had a bad takedown one race and got passed by 4 boats. In other words, you could not make a mistake. The boat was fast upwind even with the BIG chop. We flew the masthead every race. We went to the fractional the first race because the wind shifted so much it became a reach. We had a new #2 that helped get through the chop when the wind cooperated. I feel the masthead was worth the 6 second penalty, we didn't do better because of other things (not the rating). Next year we will be better! Not bad for a 20 year old boat though.

:: Talisman finished fourth in the final race and ended up
:: fifth for the week with 33 points. The winner was a
:: B25,followed by a Tripp26, a J27, and an Andrews 26. The
:: racing was closer for Talisman than the final score
:: indicated as some of the finishes were only seconds
:: apart. Maybe Hal will give us a post mortem on the event
:: and how he fared with the masthead kite and whether he
:: used it in all the races, etc.
