I replaced my florboards last year. I went to the "wood-shop" and ordered a marine grade teak veneer 4'x8' sheet.

It's pricy, about $225 a sheet. You can add another $100 if you want the "holly" stringers of the original floorboards. I used the old boards as a template but made the whole sole just one board with access to the hauling yoke and bilge water.

I put 5 coats of marine grade varnish on. Be sure to do the sides even though 3/4" thick, all ends, cut-out and all because these are end grains that soak up water in a heartbeat. Also, once you drill for fastening to the stringers, drop varnish into the holes to seal them too.

You will be pleased with the outcome, makes the yacht look new!

>>Just wondering if anyone has had to replace the cabin floor in their boat. Mine is in deplorable shape and I think relpacing it will be much easier than attempting to restore it. What brands has anyone used? What to look for? Comments, experiences....I would love to hear them.
