Hull Number 13 built in 1982. Always dry sailed. Well equiped. Turnkey program with no additional $$ required to be on the starting line and capable of winning.
Upgrades that we have made to optimize the boat include: 1) Racing sails: new Quantum main and genoa with less than 5 regattas on them. Good Quantum jib and Santa Cruz spinnaker.
2) Ocean racing sails/backup Bay racing sails: Quantum main with reef points, North 3DL jib, Santa Cruz jib, 2 Quantum genoas, Quantum and Pineapple spinnaekr. Willing to sell separately Quantum #2 and Pineapple #4 perfect for shorthanded sailing.
3) New aft lowers with slick hand adjustable Ronstan turnbuckles.
4) Weight optimization: Boat is at near minimum class weight through rigorous weight reduction program. All non-essential weight adding hardware and other items removed. No battery required.
5) Bow launching spinnaker system with boom sock for spinnaker pole and customized bag for forward hatch.
6) Solar powered tack tick compass.
7) Tapered spinnaker sheets, spinnaker halyard and jib halyard. New high tech jib sheets.
8) New engine in the last 5 years. 2 stroke Nissan 3.5 horse in excellent condition. Fresh water flushed after each use.
9) New boom.
10) Tefloned, well maintained bottom
11) Rig tuned for high performance
12) Reinforced bulkhead
This boat has been sailed hard over the years and has won every race imaginable in the Bay and Ocean. Boat maintenance has been focused on speed optimization rather than cosmetics. The boat comes with a trailer that has been used for transport back from Santa Barbara and Ditch Run but will require some maintenance for long distance travel.
$18,000 gets you on the starting line with a fast boat! Please, no out of town enquiries. This boat should remain racing one-design on San Francisco Bay.
