We had a shy kite on Opus and occasionally used it in the short-handed events on a tight reach. You will be able to hold a ful kite just as well if you have a full crew on the rail. I am not sure the actual mid gurth of the shy-kite, but as long as it is no less than 13'0", then it is legal.
In my personal opinion, I would not recommend you get one of these. IT is more of a luxury and there are plenty of other places in the boat that the moeny can be spent on.
