:: Tom,
::
:: Welcome to the fleet. I used to be insured through BOAT
:: US and they covered racing in the Bay and I believe in
:: an offshore area up to 30 miles in radius from Mile
:: Rock.
::
:: I am now insured with Progressive. They cover racing in
:: all US and Canadian waters up to 50 miles offshore. For
:: the e27, I pay roughly $480/yr with $500k in liability
:: and a $250 deductible.
::
:: cheers
::
:: Dan
::
::
:: :: Just purchased an express, and sold my Melges 24. I had
:: :: insurance on the 24 however, the insurance will no
:: :: longer cover boats longer then 26'. Obvioulsy, there are
:: :: some insurance groups that will cover boats soley
:: :: utilized for racing purposes only, but I am having a
:: :: hard time finding any. Does anyone have insurance on
:: :: their 27 that specifically covers racing and racing in
:: :: offshore waters? If you do would you be kind enough to
:: :: pass on the provider name so I can contact them for a
:: :: quote?
::
:: :: Thanks,
::
:: :: Tom
