If we had the National in Santa Cruz it might be wise & fun to plan a series of events down here in the Monterey bay area which would help to offset the time and expense of moving the boats. There the Dolphin regatta at MPYC and the Santanarama held by Stillwater Yacht club out of pebble beach which offer a great beach party and BBQ plus sailing in one of the most beautiful areas of Carmel overlooking point Lobos!

Plus a potential down race from Santa Cruz to Monterey - 22 Miles

Just a thought!
