Subject: Chainplate bolts

Just thought I would pass along that about two weeks ago I replaced all of the chainplate bolts on Witchy Woman #116. An easy job to complete, as I simply removed one bolt at a time from each chainplate and inserted the new bolt. Be WARNED, I think my chainplate bolts were original and every single one of them (6 per side) were bent, or severely corroded / rusted. Several of the nuts broke apart and simply sheared the bolt off. This is an easy repair / maintenance job with two people and I would suggest that every owner at the very least inspects a couple of the bolts on each side, cheap insurance in comparison to a new rig….
