robert galbraith wondered: >>i replaced the standing rigging this winter and as i am putting it together forgot how to attach the in-line lowers. do they attach to the intermediates with a shackle because they are not long enough to reach and share the same clevis pin as the intermediates. how does everyone else do it? >> >>thanks >> >>rob galbraith >> >>maximus Let's see, the clevis on the intermediates fits inside (just) a u-shackle. The screw pin of the shackle goes through the intermediate clevis and the chainplate. The shackle is on the inside of the intermediate and the in-line lower attaches to the 'u' part of the shackle. Shackle is about 1-1/2 inches long. This is from memory, but the concept is correct (or at least it's how my boats rigged).
