Subject: Lower in-line shroud
Info: (21557 views) Posted: Sunday 7-13-03 09:08:01 AM
Wayne--You attach the in-line lower shroud and the intermediate shroud to the same hole in the chain plate using a 2-inch long shackle with the shackle pin going through the same hole in the chain plate for both shrouds. In other words, the intermediate shroud attaches exactly the same as before, except it is attached with the screw pin for the 2-inch shackle. And the in-line lower is fastened to the top of the shackle and pinned to the chaninplate with the same pin as the intermediate shroud. I will take a picture of the attachment and send it two you and/or post it in the photo section of the website under rigging shots. I don't have a digital camera so it may be a week or so before I shoot a roll of film. I believe Thomas Hardware in Grosse Pointe, MI can make one up for you and supply you with the correct long shackle. At least they have made up in-line lower shrouds for all ten boats in our fleet. I assume they kept the measurements.
