Subject: trailer launching
Info: (20904 views) Posted: Wednesday 6-11-03 01:03:37 PM
We successfully launch on a steep ramp, but a trailer extension does not work. We installed an axel hub on the tongue and mount the spare tire there. That results in a 3rd wheel that supports the tongue and allows the trailer to roll down the ramp. Simply attach a 35-50 foot tow strap and ease it back into the water. Very simple. Getting the boat back on is a bit more of a challenge. We built UHMW keel guides from the back of the trailer and there is a trick to using your spinnaker sheets and winches to get it back on! If you want more information let me know.
