I have heard which drums can be sandblasted to restore the grip. Try a rigger or Ballinger who is experienced in machine work on yacht metal.

:: Does anyone have experience with re-doing the existing
:: drums on the winches. I have two speed lemar jib winches
:: that are good but the drums have become worn and slick.
:: Seems to ahppen after time on all winches.
::
:: Must be someone that can re-do the outside drum.
