Bob Doerr: In the Photo Gallery there is a section called "Rigging and deck layout shots" which contains two pictures of the set-up on my boat which works well for me. Notice the stainless steel wear plates on the coaming for cross-sheeting.

Cross-sheeting is easy with the #3. We leave three wraps on each winch and a winch handle in both winches at all times, and the crew goes immediately to the high side. Cross-sheeting is harder with the #1. You have to remove the winch handle and sheet from the off-side winch after breaking or the jib will hang up.

Also, the winches are 2-speed Lewmar 24s which aren't cheap but work great.
