Scott,

I don't know if I can give you an actual numbers load breaking strength that you need to get, but I do have a logical answer for you. I would suggest that you look at some of the top boats to see what size and type of lines and cleats they are using. I can tell you that I have not had a problem with cleats or lines breaking on any of the boats that I have sailed on.

If you want to give me a call or send me an e-mail I can tell you what kind and type of lines we are using on Moxie.

Cheers,

Jason

:: I've had a couple of failures recently and am replacing

:: when it comes time to buy cleats, block, and lines, I

:: should a mainsheet block or a boom vang block be able to
:: handle? Any guidelines on how to estimate the various
:: loads on the boat? Primarily the halyards, both the
:: lines and the clutches or cleats that hold them, the
:: vang block on the boom, the main sheet blocks, the
:: backstay fittings, the forestay fittings.

:: Thanks
