One other thought--rocking your mast as far forward as you can helps
your speed downwind. In Detroit this is called "fraculating"--fasten
the jib halyard to the stem of the boat; ease the backstay off all
the way and crank hard on the jib halyard. This significantly
improves downwind speed under spinnaker. |
