A Kevlar '4 wheel' tugem strap in the best price performance. Some have them and a version can be obtained at a good price at Sveendsons; $40 I think I personally use a 3/8th inch (3star) galvanized chain (although chain is not recommended for overhead lifting) . . . rated at 20K#'s at least . . . with 3/8th inch stanless shackles on both ends; the priceypart . . . and 11K#s vektran braces with carbiner hooks for the rail . . . remember always to hook carbiners to the boat 'gate up'. Its overkill and pricey at $140. I replace the Vectran ever couple of years.
