Subject: Rudder failure due to water ingress?
Info: (5171 views) Posted: Friday 2-26-21 11:15:02 AM
I am not aware of anyone losing a rudder in an Express27 in the 30 something years I have been part of the fleet.

:: Hi,
::
:: Has anybody ever suffered a rudder failure while
:: underway due to water ingress between the post/structure
:: and the rudder fiberglass?
::
:: What did it feel like? Was it a slow 'hey something is
:: wrong let's get the sails down' kind of thing or was it
:: a sudden, catastrophic 'oh shit I can't steer' moment?
::
:: thanks
