we removed all the teak parts , then I sanded the crap out of them, Tim repaired / filled a few spots / cracks , soaked them in epoxy , sanded then awlgriped them the same color as deck. we figure it will last many years before needing some touch up and they are stronger / cheaper than the plastic materials . I liked the teak color but I never kept it up. as for the rails ,,yes they are from home depot but they are still stainless not sure what grade , do not think its 316 but they claim it support 400 LBS when bolted to bathroom wall, we broke the original teak ones several times LOL
