Are people doing this race and planning to be 100% up to scratch or are people not doing this race due to the new requirements?
Of particular challenge to us in order to comply on such short notice are:
- INTERNALLY operable manual bilge pump. Most e27's are in the cockpit. We like the idea of moving it forward to get weight out of the stern but not much time to make this happen. - 18in lifelines (standard for e27's is 12) - We were thinking that if the crew were always clipped in then this requirement would not be req'd - Masthead VHF (we propose 2 handhelds w/one of them continuously monitoring 16) - 11.5 in Radar reflector (pretty large for such a small boat) - GPS Receiver (assume a Handheld GPS will suffice but need to confirm).
Keen for thoughts - MK
