Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

The announcement that Davie Norris Boatbuilders of Christ Church, New Zealand is prepared to begin bulding E27s is great news for our Class. We all have a big stake in the success of this venture. And we owe thanks to Marilyn and Sutter Schumacher, Davie Norris and Jason Crowson for bringing us to the point of this week's welcome announcement.

Now it's up to all of us to help spread the word and sell some boats! Put a notice on your club's or marina's bulletin board and on public boards available at most marine stores. Print out the specs and post them on the bulletin board at your sailmaker and enlist his aid in publicizing the return to production of the ULTIMATE SAILING MACHINE! Our boat is a favorite of sailmakers. Past class champions include such luminaries as John Kostecki, Jeff Madrigali, Dave Hodges, Norm Davant and Detroit's own sailing guru, Wally Cross.

You may also want to help out by reviewing the specs and sending your comments on to Jason Crowson, posting them on this message board or sending them directly to Davie Norris along with your best wishes for the success of the venture. [I believe the specs could stand a bit of tweaking, and I have passed on my suggestions to Jason. One of them was to offer the option of ordering the boat with a Ballenger spar and standing and running rigging, because of the good experience we have had with Ballenger spars and the excellent service Buzz has provided us over the years.]
