Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

NOW IS THE TIME FOR EXPRESS 27s TO SIGN UP FOR SAILING WORLD'S DETROIT NOOD REGATTA AND THE EXPRESS 27 GREAT LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP!!

As of today 6 boats have registered, and I'm sure there will be at least two or three more laggards from the Detroit/Michigan fleet, enough to assure our normal nine or ten boats for this great event.

Those of you who haven't done so already can do yourselves a favor and help us make the regatta even better by signing up and coming to race with us in the Detroit NOOD/Express 27 Great Lakes Championship.

Conditions on Lake St. Clair are always challenging--winds from light to heavy and water from flat to the ugly Lake St. Clair chop. Race management by Bayview Yacht Club is nearly always superlative.

As usual, Crescent Sail Yacht Club in Grosse Pointe Farms will provide hoist and moorings near our racing area at no charge. And the Detroit Fleet will do anything it can to make your trip to Lake St. Clair enjoyable.

See you there!
