Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

Info: (18422 views) Posted: Thursday 5-14-15 01:21:02 PM
The Express 27 has been selected as a One Design class for the upcoming Larry Knight Perpetual Trophy division of the Lipton Cup being held June 28th at the Sausalito YC.

I would strongly encourage your club to send a boat(s) This is a great opportunity to showcase the class and demonstrate the competitiveness of our one-design fleet racing.

TROPHY DIVISIONS & ALTERATION OF CLASS RULES: The BIG LIPTON Perpetual Trophy Series (for “The Sir Thomas J. Lipton Challenge Trophy” and “The Edward E. Peck Memorial Trophy”) will be sailed with J105 boats under Fleet One Rules. The LARRY KNIGHT Perpetual Trophy Series (for “The Larry Knight Perpetual Trophy” and “The Treasurer's Cup”) will be sailed with Express 27s, under class rules. The LITTLE LIPTON Perpetual Trophy Series (for “The Sir Thomas Lipton Pacific Coast Perpetual Challenge” 1st and 2nd place trophies) will be sailed with J24s, under class rules. The ADMIRAL Perpetual Trophy Series (for “The Admiral's Cup” and “The Valhalla Cup”) will be sailed with Cal 20's limited to a class mainsail and a class jib.
