"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!! Drew Scott Papillon (most of the time)" |

-Over fifty Express 27 sailors, family members and crews turned out for the San Francisco Fleet awards party held March 17th at the St Francis YC. -Warm celebration and wonderful camaraderie.
-The 2011 San Francisco Championship Series -1st place El Raton, Ray Lotto -2nd place Get Happy!!, Brendan Busch -3rd place Peaches, John Rivlin
-The 2011 San Francisco Distance Series -1st place El Raton, Ray Lotto -2nd place, Great White, Rachel Fogel -3rd place Dianne, Steve Katzman
-The Fleet's Mid Winter Series (BYC) -Motorcycle Irene, Will Paxton
-The Best Rookie of the Year -Neil Holmund, Risk
-Most Improved -Rachel Fogel, Great White
-Best Wipe Out in 2011 Caught on Film -Ted Lohr, Monster Express -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHs83q1InY0
-Ironman Award for the most races completed -Ray Lotto, El Raton
