I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. 3/14 Double handed Light Ship sign up has been posted.
Currently Diane and Desperado are signed up. The poll indicated 10 boats had interest in this race; as a shorter alternative to dbh'd Farallons.
Let's show a fleet for dbh'd Light Ship, as buoy members of the scheduling commitee indicated, and I agree, that dbh'd LS will be nixed from the schedule in 2010 if we can't raise a fleet this year. A fleet = 5 boats minimum. And I'd hope for 7, 8 or 9 with 10 indicating preference.
e27's are a perfect boat to win dbh'd LS; probability is highest in this first of the three Fun March races. That's because the fleet tends to be a little smaller than crewed LS and dbh'd Farallons.
While you're at it, sign up for crewed LS and dbh'd Farrallons too. If we can raise a fleet of ten boats across each of these races. Chances are highest at least one e27 will get some coverage in Latitude 38.
There is only one Fun series race in April; SSS in the bay . . . so April is a break month following this March rally.
