Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

August LD/Fun Series Race Suggestions:

For August, if LD/Fun does not do Second Half or Half Moon Bay the July weekends before, I'm suggesting we do OYRA fully crewed Farallons on August 2nd.

I do notr necesasrily want to do LD/Fun series regattas on back-to-back weekends. However, this may be unaviodable for anyone who chooses to do both the LD/Fun and Real Fleet Series.

Alternatively, not doing the fully crewed Half Moon Bay in July, we could opt for the double handed Half Moon Bay on approxiamtely the 16th. I actually prefer this doublehanded HMB race for LD/Fun from the standpoint of easy to administer. I am proposing this as the primary race we do for August.

For Real Fleet Series, Summer Keel is usually the second weekend of this month . . . which would be the weekend before HMB doublehanded.

At the LD/Fun one race per month plan, this is just one of those months where Real Fleet Racers might have to decide where there focus is.
