Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

2008 LONG DISTANCE SERIOUS SERIES PROPOSAL

Okay, here's another proposed Long Distance Series schedule for 2008.

This suggestion for discussion is that e27 does MORA.

This suggestions replaces the prior Long Distance/Fun propopsal.

Essentially the fleet would be e27 plus a Mabncebo 30, 1 Antrim and an Ericcson 30. If we can get 5 or more e27's to do this series, perhpas more PHRF boats would so up. OYRA has great practical prizes from West Marine, and a lot of them.

Compared to the prior LD/FUN proposal, this is a serious race schedule, for serious racers.

It would be interesting to have an e27 ocean series. And, for those who like five races back to back on the weekend, this schedule offers some serious racing under diverse conditions that are not the same old bay races.

Dates are proximate:

March 22 - Lightship

April 20 - Duxbury Lightship

May 12 - Northstar

May 23 or 30 - Monterey Spin Run; event following

June 7 - 8 (or 14 - 15) - Drakes Bay; raft up party

June 18 - Copastal Cup; event following

July 5 - Lightship II

July 19 - Half Moon Bay; barbeque @ HMBYC

August 2 - Fatrallones

August 30 or Sept 5 - Windjammers; barbeque @ SCYC

Sept 20 - Southern Cross

Oct 18 - Junior Waterhouse

Please chime in.
