Norcalsailing report featuring Summer Palace:
http://www.norcalsailing.com/entries/2012/06/05/ditchrun2.html#.T-iWoI2Mfqs Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28. "My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!! Drew Scott Papillon (most of the time)" |

Author: Tom Jenkins ([email protected]) contact the author Subject: Farallones Rules Exception!!! Info: (21644 views) Posted: Wednesday 4-4-07 07:45:21 PM |
:: SF Express Sailors --
::
:: It has been requested that we relax the express class
:: sail inventory rules for those competing in the
:: double-handed farallones race. The proposal is that for
:: this race only, boats may carry and set at their
:: discretion: shy-kites, reaching kites, and blast
:: reachers.
::
:: If anyone planning on doing this race does not have
:: access to these sails and feels that they will be at a
:: material disadvantage because of not having access to
:: these sails for this race, and they post a message on
:: this site explaining this position, this exception to
:: the class rules will not apply, and the sail inventory
:: will be limited by the current class rules. The
:: objection posting to the farrallones event space must be
:: posted no later than 5:00 PM Thursday 4/5. I will issue
:: a final ruling on the sail inventory no later than noon
:: on Friday 5/5.
::
:: We are currently discussing amending the class rules to
:: allow the use of specialty sails for long-distance ocean
:: races. We will try to get these changes made and
:: ratified within the next couple of weeks. Stay-tuned.
