"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!! Drew Scott Papillon (most of the time)" |

Desperado will be racing OYRA/MORA and other ocean events this 2007 season.
Note OYRA race dates:
Crewed Lightship; 3/24 (on e27 schedule; $35 early YRA entry fee) Duxbury Lightship; 4/21 Monterey Spinnaker Run; 5/25-26 (scored seperately) Drakes Bay; 6/9-10 Coastal Cup to Santa Barbara; 6/21- (independent from OYRA) Lightship II; 7/7 Half Moon Bay; 7/21 Windjammers; 9/1 (scored seperately) Southern Cross; 9/22 Jr. Waterhouse; 10/13
OYRA series entry fee is $185 + $40 YRA fee + $30 PHRF Renewal fee = $255
Also, note SSS doublehanded series dates:
3 Bridge; 1/27 (on e27 schedule) Singlehanded Farralones; 4/21 In the Bay Race; 6/2 Longpac; 6/30 Half Monn Bay; 8/18 East Bay to Estuary Race; 9/8 Vallejo One-Two; 10/6-7
SSS series entry fee is $110.
