They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. the pump is a Boswell Gusler G500. $78 at Swens. While it is out, contact Boswell and order a pair of Duck bill valves which will make it work much better. Also work out a pickup in the bilge box that is very near the bottom but standing off but a couple of screw heads. I used a fitting which is a screen that connects into the pickup hose. I added a few 5-32 screws so it cannot contact the bottom and choke itself off. I end up with one or two milimeters of water in the bilge after pumping.
