"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. The $170 is high but more my reason is I liked doing the double
handed IYC lightshipfor a reasonable price and taking a week off then
doing the BAMA doublehanded Farralones. Three in a row is a huge time
obligation. And while I'm atit, congratulations to Mike and Dave on
Desperado for sailing a fine race last Saturday. First in Division,
2doverall, they missed first overall corrected by one minute and
twenty seconds. Way to go!
