Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

Subject: Open Letter to the Crew of Attitude Adjustment

To the Crew of Attitude Adjustment, Jeff Thorpe, J.V. Gilmour, Debra Hong, Liga Hoy, Soren Hoy:

(Liga and Soren, please forward to your crew, as I do not have their email addresses)

I write you in an attempt to "clear the air" with respect to your fine boat and crew and the express 27 class.

While the fleet membership was compelled to make certain changes to the class rules recently, and more are expected, a reading of the current rules and interpretations makes it very clear that Attitude Adjustment earned the 2004 Express 27 Nationals Championship and 2004 Express 27 Season Championship in full accordance with Express 27 Class Rules. You should all be very proud of this achievement, you have won in a very competitive fleet.

The changes to the class rules were not undertaken lightly, and were not intended to cast any doubt on this acheivement. You won fairly and within the rules. The fleet officers are sorry for any distress or hurt this matter has caused for "Attitude Adjustment" and her talented crew. On behalf of the Fleet Officers, let me offer you our sincere apology.

Sincerely, Mark Lowry Express 27 Class Association President
