Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28.

"My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton.

My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell.

So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!!

Subject: Want to Crew at Nats & Pre-Nats

Good sailor and E-27 owner (me) looking for crew position on boat going to the Nationals and/or Pre-Nationals. Our boat, Airtight, is not going to make it up from Santa Cruz for the regattas, but I would really like to find a crew spot. I'm a pretty experienced sailor, having owned a J/35 for the past 5 years, but relatively new to E-27 - we bought Airtight in June, but have sailed her a lot (and yes, she's a LOT more fun than the J!!!). My pros: lots of sailing experience (SF and Monterey Bay racing, Pac Cup, Coastal Cup, Windjammers), love to tweak and shape the sails to make the boat go fast, easygoing, good sense of humor, likes to sail well at all times, frequently leaves bottle of Chateuneuf du Pape in the bilge when skipper is nice. My cons: BIG guy - 6' 6" tall and 250 lbs. (good for those heavy air days, but it only leaves you 630 lbs of crew weight), lawyer (no, not THAT kind). Please call me at 408 391 7747 or e-mail at [email protected].
