Norcalsailing report featuring Summer Palace:
http://www.norcalsailing.com/entries/2012/06/05/ditchrun2.html#.T-iWoI2Mfqs Below quoted from Pressure Drop: Drew Scott was helming a F-28. "My crew is starting to swing around to pick me up when El Raton, in perfect control slides up beside me and asks if I would like to get picked up. They had already doused their chute and stopped beside me. I took their offer and got back into a boat (trying to stop a lightweight trimaran next to someone when it is blowing in the mid-20s is not easy so I figured I would not turn down El Raton. My crew ably finished the race on Papillon, only one boat behind El Raton! And I had many adventures with El Raton, but that is their story to tell. So, a great big thank you to the Ray Lotto and the crew of El Raton for pulling my soggy hide out of Suisun Bay!! Drew Scott Papillon (most of the time)" |

:: I would totally agree Bill. If the class has the plans
:: then folks could use a more local trailer manufacturer
:: as well which would be awesome. That was one of the big
:: things for me considering having Trail-rite build a
:: trailer was having to drive from Hood River all the way
:: Santa Ana (probably an 18-20 hr drive) and then having
:: to pay CA sales tax on top of that LOL.

::
:: ::
:: ::
:: :: :: I called Trail-Rite in Santa Ana this morning to inquire
:: :: :: about a new e27 trailer and was informed they are out of
:: :: :: business. They did not know of anybody else taking over
:: :: :: the product line. I guess I'll call the Sacramento
:: :: :: company referenced in another thread; if anybody has any
:: :: :: other leads, please post.
:: ::
:: :: If Trail-Rite isn't selling off its assets to another
:: :: manufacturer, it would be great if the class could get
:: :: the OEM specs and drawings from Trail-Rite before
:: :: they're gone. I got a new trailer from them a couple
:: :: years ago and it fit the boat perfectly with no fiddling
:: :: except minor pad adjustment. It would be a shame to lose
:: :: that information and have to re-engineer it later.
