Subject: Upper spreader bar

Thanks all. I decided to bite the bullet and move to the new spreader bar type from Ballenger that Brendan mentioned.

Installation involved making the upper spreader bar holes in the mast a bit larger which was ok as the existing holes had already been worked larger by bad spreader bar fits over time.

:: Last year I made a new spreader bar from a stock
:: aluminum extrusion from a wholesaler. The extrusion had
:: square corners which I ground off with a belt sander to
:: match a borrowed spreader bar, and I bent the bar to
:: match the original extrusion. Ballenger said the
:: original extrusion came from a supplier in Australia and
:: was no longer available.
:: :: OK, correction: the old spreader sections and spreader
:: :: bar sections are no longer available. Replacements are
:: :: available, but will require some modifications to the
:: :: mast to fit...

:: :: :: :: Hi all,
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: It seems like my rig on Salty Hotel needs a replacement
:: :: :: :: upper spreader bar. Does anybody have one of the
:: :: :: :: original keyed upper spreader bars (i.e. not the flat
:: :: :: :: bar) for me to either copy or buy?

:: :: :: :: Thanks
