Subject: tensioning aft lowers
Info: (9764 views) Posted: Wednesday 8-25-10 05:14:15 PM
I keep my aft lowers slack in light and medium winds. This allows the mast to rock forward when using the spinnaker. I snug them up a bit in stronger wind.

:: We finally got "Espresso" in the water for the 1st time,
:: however, we were somewhat confused by the rigging. The
:: boat did not come with inline lowers, so the lower part
:: of the mast is at the mercy of the aft lowers. We plan
:: on putting on the inlines very soon.
::
:: How does everyone in the fleet keep their aft lowers?
:: Slack?? Ours are super slack with the turnbuckles
:: tightened all the way! Is this normal?
::
:: Any recommendations are most welcomed.
::
:: Mark
