Subject: Hull # 80 comes home!
Info: (17769 views) Posted: Sunday 4-1-07 11:00:16 AM
Hull #80 has come home. We had a successful tow from LA To SF this week. We took 5 over the grapevine and dodged all the mad truckers.

It's my understanding that Hull 80 had never been in the pacific waters untill just this last month. I was told she was ordered and sent to the east coast where she has spent her entire life (please correct me if I'm wrong).

We resteped her yesterday and hope to have a sail this week, although we did screw something up. Accidentally we bent the threaded bar that attaches the turnbuckle to the swag on the uppers (don't ask how as I'm rather embarrassed). We were able to straighten it from it 45 degree bend, but my question is is it safe to reuse post straightening and if not where can we get a new one.

Mike
