Subject: Express 27 toe rails for sale or trade.
Info: (13421 views) Posted: Tuesday 2-1-11 02:52:19 PM
Ahhhhh good one. So all we had Tim do was paint the teak with the Awlgrip the came Oyster White as the smooth parts of the deck.

So the answer is it is the teak!

Here's another money saver those handrails aren't the stainless ones you'd find in a boat catalog, but simply handicap handrails for the bathroom. IIRC $30 ea at the local Lowes or Home Depot.

Also the flat tracks where the crew sits are the original stock Express 27 jib tracks also. New tracks run $60-$100 each.

:: I just went back to look at your pictures once again as
:: I remembered

:: something unusual about your companionway guides for
:: hatch and washboard. No teak? You have to fess up more
:: details about replacement

:: for it. Someone in another topic suggested using plastic
:: ones. Starboard

:: has some texture , your appears smooth. What is it , do
:: you have a source ? I would love to get it for my boat.
::
:: :: The windows are acrylic.
:: ::
:: :: :: I drooled over your pictures.That is best rebirth of e27
:: :: :: .
:: ::
:: :: :: I wish I had your resolve. Hope one day .
:: ::
:: :: :: Thanks for sharing anyway. How about those windows ,
:: :: :: what are you using for replacement ?
:: :: ::
:: :: ::
:: :: ::
:: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Thanks, Tim Sarns who is based in Mt Clemens, MI did the
:: :: :: :: work. He actually had to fix a few large wet spots
:: :: :: :: before the painting. All we had to do is take her apart
:: :: :: :: and put her back together. The crew came and went to
:: :: :: :: help us and that took about 30 hours.
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: We decided on Awlgrip, the nonskid color is moondust and
:: :: :: :: the rest is oyster white.
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: Here's a SnapFish album of the whole project, pictures
:: :: :: :: are out of order:
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=30874050...
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: Holly crap , that looks awesome. Would you provide some
:: :: :: :: :: details re you
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: paint and colors ? I really like your non skid. What is
:: :: :: :: :: it?
:: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: Congrats as she looks hot.
:: :: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: :: Evolution underwent a refit / paint job and the toe
:: :: :: :: :: :: rails from just in front of the forward stanchion and
:: :: :: :: :: :: aft were removed. See photo:
:: :: :: :: :: :: http://express27.org/photos/2797.jpg
:: :: :: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: :: Both of the removed sections of toe rail are complete
:: :: :: :: :: :: and are stored in the boat currently.
:: :: :: :: :: ::
:: :: :: :: :: :: Asking $150 ea OBO, trade is another possibility I’m
:: :: :: :: :: :: interested in either a #3 or #1 in moderate or practice
:: :: :: :: :: :: condition, will also consider selling sections, so make
:: :: :: :: :: :: an offer.
:: :: :: :: :: ::

:: :: :: :: :: :: -Dan
