In PHRF, the E27 with the standard set-up is not fast downwind in lighter airs, O25 and slower rated boats will easily keep up or pass. To be fast, a 0.5 airex masthead kite with a J length pole and light air sheets work wonders and you will smile all day. The 9 PHRF hit is well worth the big increase in speed, you'll love it, and you'll actually look forward to light air days. With this set-up the E27 wins in it's div. O25, J24, and L28 are extremely fast boats for their given ratings - very fast boats for PHRF, that's well documented. An O25 out here cleans in it's div easily, and wins even when put into the very competitive J24 div. With this E27 masthead set-up, the O25 and other masthead kites won't be able to pass you - and you'll win a lot more races.
